MAPs-NET Nepal
With the support of ICIMOD, the Ethnobotanical Society of Nepal (ESON) has developed a database on medicinal and aromatic plants of Nepal, under the umbrella of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Network (MAPs-Net) Nepal. The project was executed during 2008-2009, and now available for the researchers and different stakeholders. The online database is hosted by ESON, with the support of ICIMOD.
 
 
 
User can search information in the MAPs-net database through MAPs-Net Nepal Search option. Following steps are recommended here.

Step - 1 Enter the plant name (Latin name or local name), family, genus or any other text in the search box provided and click the 'search' button. If typed parameter is found in the database, user will get a list of the plant names matched.

Step - 2 In each section, several collapsible heading will be displayed. You can select the required details by clicking the corresponding sections and headings in each section. The headings in each section can be collapsed or expanded by clicking the corresponding heading or clicking + or x button at upper part of the displayed page
 
ESON - Allachy Project ( Phase II )
As a continuation of the first phase of the MAPs project (August 2006-September 2007) in Rasuwa, the second phase is launching in three VDCs of Rasuwa (viz. Chilime Gatlang and Thuman) outside the Langtang National Park. The livelihood of the local people of these VDCs is directly linked with the medicinal plants trade, and there is the immediate need of participation of local people in the conservation of these resources....

ESON - Allachy Project ( Phase I )
ESON conducted a project on community based in situ conservation of medicinal plants in the Rasuwa district of Nepal Himalaya. This project is entirely a Community Participatory Action oriented program. For better effectiveness of the project activities, ESON selected two local organizations MSN and FECOFUN having tendency to work with the remote communities and strong community favour, relationships and sound prestige among local people.....

ESON - CEPF Project
The Eastern Himalaya has been included among Earth’s biodiversity hotspots and it includes several centers for plant diversity. Kanchenjunga-Singalila Complex, one of the five prioritized landscapes of the Eastern Himalayas, possesses globally significant populations of landscape species. It is designed as one of the WWF 'Global 2000' eco-regions and is declared as a 'Gift to the Earth'.
